Edwin Sodi (born September 1973) is a South African businessman and entrepreneur. He is the CEO of Blackhead Consulting.
The businessman has been involved in state infrastructure projects. He is a controversial figure due to his involvement in high-profile corruption trials. He acquired a majority stake in the nightclub LIV Sandton.

Early Life
Edwin Sodi was born in September 1973 in Pelana village in Bolobedu, Limpopo. He grew up in the Lutheran Church, where his late father was a pastor.
Career
Sodi is the sole director of Base Property Holdings (Pty) Ltd. He and a partner secured a R255m asbestos project with Zulu’s department in the Free State.
His companies have secured contracts for water treatment, housing, and infrastructure worth billions of Rand. He was ordered to repay the City of Tshwane the profits made from the failed R292m Rooiwal wastewater project.
His companies, Blackhead Consulting and NJR Projects, entered a joint venture with CMS Water Engineering. They were awarded the contract to upgrade the treatment plant for supplying clean water to Hammanskraal.
Sodi is the owner of Blackhead Consulting. He expanded into the nightlife industry, acquiring a stake in the nightclub LIV Sandton after a legal tussle with his partners. He also launched another hotspot, LIV Cape Town, on Bree Street in Cape Town.
Personal Life
Edwin Sodi was married to Nthateng Lerata. After they divorced, the court ordered Sodi to pay his estranged wife a divorce settlement of R24 million.
Sodi has been linked to many romantic affairs. He has dated many well-known women, including Matsatsi Ramba, Onalerona Moreo, and Disebo Makatsa. He ended his relationship with luxury influencer Kefilwe Mabote in 2022.
Edwin celebrated his 50th birthday in 2023. He split from his fiancée, influencer and actress Karen Zulu, in 2024. He has also been romantically linked with Kat Ncala.
Edwin was under house arrest for allegedly assaulting Lerata and her male friend, Faizel Motlekar, at their home in Bryanston. Lerata accused him of trying to shoot her with a gun and charged him with attempted murder. The case was withdrawn from the court roll in 2025.
The ANC financial benefactor was arrested along with six others for charges of corruption, money laundering, and theft related to a R255 million Free State asbestos audit contract in 2020, and was out on R500,000 bail.
